  Program Introduction

  International College of Semiconductor Technology (ICST) at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan focuses on “Internationalization” and “Industrialization” to cultivate the top talents with the innovation and professionals for next-generation semiconductor technology and solid-state circuits. The research areas of ICST include semiconductor materials, solid-state electronic devices, system-in-package (SiP), IC design and heterogeneous system integration. The courses in ICST are taught in English. Additionally, ICST provides opportunities and grants for students to collaborate with semiconductor industry (TSMC, MediaTek, Delta, etc.) and international institutes (UC Berkeley, UCLA, IMEC, TIT, Tohoku U., etc.). Moreover, ICST also provides several dual-degree programs with top universities (UCLA, KU Leuevn, TIT, IIT, etc.) for our students.

  Program Introduction

  Located in Taiwan’s Silicon Valley, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NYCU, renowned for its strong collaborative relationship with industry and interdisciplinary academic training, is the premier choice for overseas students to get their education in Taiwan. Currently the ME department has 30 faculty members with an enrollment of approximately 410 undergraduate students and 350 graduate (70 PhD) students. The research focus in ME department includes precision manufacturing, medical assistive devices, green energy, micro scale thermofluids, robotics, system dynamics, signal processing, aerospace technology and micro/nano technology.

  Program Introduction

  The College of Computer Science at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University has launched an 'International Graduate Program of College of Computer Science' to promote collaboration between academic research institutions and businesses. The program is designed to create a mutually beneficial environment for academic research and practical application and to nurture highly skilled and globally competitive talents with advanced research skills and industry insights.

  
  

  Program Curriculum

  1. The program offers specialized courses in seven key areas: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, Multimedia Engineering, System Software, Computational Theory, and Hardware-Software Integration.
  2. Credits requirement for graduation: 36 credits, including 12 credits of required courses (including 8 credits of off-campus internship) and 24 credits of electives.
  3. Completion of the thesis examinations and thesis review.

  Mechanism

  1. Monthly Stipend:

  • Bachelor: Up to NTD 21,000 (USD700)
  • Master: Up to NTD 25,000(USD 833)
  • Ph.D.: Up to NTD30,000 (USD1,000)

  2. Awardees might have a monthly stipend and/or tuition waiver or rate as local students.

  3. NYCU also provides Elite Ph.D. Scholarship for newly admitted students with outstanding academic records and exceptional research contributions.

  -- Up to 2 years for NTD 33,000 (USD 1,065) per month with a tuition waiver.

  
  

  4. Award Period:

  • Available to outstanding degree-seeking students with excellent academic and research records.
  • Students are awarded for  1 year in principle and may be reapplied and reviewed regularly each year.

  1.NT 15,000 per month (up to 2 years) provided by TSMC.
