Brief History & Overview

  1. Established in 1965, CSU was granted a university status in 2003.
  2. CSU has 412 full-time faculty members, along with 600 part-time faculty members, and approximately 17,000 students.
  3. CSU consists of three colleges, namely the College of Engineering, the College of Management and the College of Life and Creativity, providing the four-year bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and PhD programs, along with the other programs in the continuing-education division.
  4. Practical skills-based curriculum, with 16 types of licenses and 26 technical examination venues, the best among the universities in Taiwan.


Academic and administrative achievements

  1. CSU received Teaching Excellence project grants for 11 consecutive years from 2006-2016(end of the project).
  2. CSU received the title of “Leading academic-industry cooperation partner” for 14 consecutive times from 1995-2022.
  3. In 2012, CSU was awarded the 1st place in the industry-academe cooperation under the categories of private universities and vocational and technological universities.
  4. Students won 268 gold medals, 247 silver medals, and 184 bronze medals in the international competitions, and received domestic and international patents on new inventions, from 2011 through 2021.
  5. CSU has been honored as one of “the Paradigm Universities of Science and Technology” since 2013.
